SUMMARY:"A-Muse-Me" funny faces by Aleathia Brown
DESCRIPTION:“A-Muse-Me” funny faces by Aleathia Brown  \nDate: Saturday\, September 26\, 2026\nTime: 6-9 pm\nLocation: The Children’s Art Carnival\,  62 Hamilton Terrace\, New York\, NY 10031 \n“A-Muse-Me” funny faces or Caricature Art dates back in ancient Africa from 500BC-200AD. Some of the earliest known caricatures and stylized faces were known in the sub-Saharan region\, coming from the Nok Culture. Famous for their large\, pierced\, almond-shaped eyes\, flared nostrils\, and elaborate hairstyles. Exaggeration of the human face is a tradition in African Art and masquerade. Looking at the So’ o masks by the Hemba People in Central Africa and the Baule People in West Africa\, with Kple masks noting their caricatures with bulging eyes\, wide grins\, and compressed features representing spirits\, ancestors\, or satirical characters with human traits. We create a story by building the features for each character. \nIn this Adult Wellness session using diluted acrylic paint\, participants create caricatures with exaggerated features\, elongated necks\, and bold facial features. Each palette will be colorful. Participants walk away with their own personal masterpiece\, including the history and origin\, for a deeper appreciation of the past impacting the present. \nArt from a perspective with history while living in the present brings added value to discovery and the brilliance art-making has. Beauty with purpose has weight and a timelessness. Your imagination is invited on the journey. This Art Workshop will be guided by Master Teaching Artist Aleathia Brown. Welcome to the table\, New Artists and professional creatives alike. \n \nCommunity Engagement benefits when we all invest into the process.\nTo Sponsor a ticket or 2 or more for those unable to pay wanting/needing to attend is the ultimate gift that keeps on giving. It allows Aleathia to cover the expense of conducting an art workshop. It invites creativity when life stresses from limited funds\, warms those attending building camaraderie. Thanks in advance for Your community investment! \nTickets $48.50\nREGISTER: https://square.link/u/BJ1t0OuE\n \n\nThe Musical Journey playlist by DJ Masai\nLight Refreshments served\nArt Materials includedRegister by booking a seat at the table with\nAleathia Brown\nMaster Teaching Artist Aleathia Brown of Aleathia’s Original\nArtworks\naleathiab.art@gmail.com\nInstagram: @aleathias_original_artworks\npayment site:\nA-Muse-Me fun faces\n\nREGISTER: https://square.link/u/BJ1t0OuE\nPhone: 646 345 2851\nVENUE: The Children’s Art Carnival\,  62 Hamilton Terrace\, New York\, NY 10031 \n\n\n  \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
