Community Arts Socials – Featuring Artist: Michele Godwin
|
Friday, February 16, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00pm, will be our first Community Arts Social Event with artist and printmaker, Michelle Godwin, at The CAC. Join us for a fun-filled evening and seize the opportunity to meet this extraordinary artist in the company of your local community.
Community Arts Socials are weekly gatherings designed for artists and creative individuals to connect with each other and members of the West Harlem and Northern Manhattan community at large. Our Community Arts Social events offer a platform for guest artists to introduce themselves and showcase their artistic endeavors to all attendees. Artist presentations can last up to an hour, followed by dedicated time to foster connections among artists and creatives. Enjoy food, beverages, music, and interactive creative activities as we strive to establish The Children’s Art Carnival as uptown’s premier hub for artists and creatives. Additionally, the CAC Socials serve as opportunities to fundraise for the Children’s Arts Carnival.
About the featured artist: Michele Godwin
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in Central and East Harlem, Michele Godwin attended the New York City public schools, earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts and an MFA in printmaking from the City University of New York. She also honed her skills in printmaking and served as a monitor at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. As a teacher, Godwin has worked with individuals of all ages, teaching printmaking and pottery to children, seniors, and adults.
