Exhibitions

The CAC Parlor Gallery serves as a place of connection in the arts for community members throughout the year. Its programming is guided by CAC’s  exhibition committee, comprised of artists and curators, local arts managers and area residents. Ongoing discussions help to inform committee planning for program themes, outreach efforts, and review of proposals received from artists, curators, and community based organizations. The program features work of local and area artists and follows themes that reflect the various threads of CACs historic role as a legacy Harlem arts institution. Artist talks, and panel discussions by curators, activists, and local artists draw mainly from West Harlem, surrounding neighborhoods and throughout the city.

CAC regularly partners with neighboring organizations such as En Foco, Hamilton Landmark Galleries and Centro Civico Cultural Dominicano. The Parlor Gallery maintains regular weekend hours and by appointment.
