African Doll Making: The Hummingbird Project: Doing Art with Vickie Fremont

 Craft a doll from your imagination – working together to create hair from colorful yarn, shape the silhouette, and use African fabrics and other materials to create a figure dressed in a patchwork skirt and tunic with a unique hairstyle. To complete the piece, add a signature head scarf to highlight the amazing and elegant hairstyle.

Date: Saturday, July 18, 1-3 PM
Facilitator: Vickie Fremont
For: Families with Children. Adults are also welcome. (Children must be accompanied by an adult. No drop-off allowed.)
Fee: $5 + $2 per child

Vickie Frémont is a multicultural artist, anthropologist, designer, and educator with over twenty years of experience in arts-based education, intercultural dialogue, and international cultural programming. Her work lies at the intersection of culture, art, sustainability, and social responsibility, using creative methodologies to foster critical thinking, collective engagement, and empowerment among diverse communities.
