African Mask and Eco: The Hummingbird Project: Doing Art with Vickie Fremont
Date: Saturday, July 11, 1-3 PM
Explore mask-making from a new, creative perspective. Vickie Fremont will encourage participating family members to work together to craft stunning papier-mâché masks reflecting their own family stories and characters. The emerging masks are adorned with drawings, selected imagery, and scraps of vibrant African fabrics. Young people will take a colorful mask home after the session.
For: Families with Children. Adults are also welcome. (Children must be accompanied by an adult. No drop-off allowed.)
Fee: $5 + $2 per child or Pay-what-you-can

Vickie Frémont is a multicultural artist, anthropologist, designer, and educator with over twenty years of experience in arts-based education, intercultural dialogue, and international cultural programming. Her work lies at the intersection of culture, art, sustainability, and social responsibility, using creative methodologies to foster critical thinking, collective engagement, and empowerment among diverse communities.
